Shah Rukh Khan Fan's Club, Kolkata
A real club for SRK? Sounds too good to be
true isn't it? Not so for the sixty seven and growing members
of the Shahrukh Khan Fan Club in Kolkata. The club members
enjoy special privileges including special discounts for SRK
movies. What more Shahrukh Khan unveiled himself (his life
size statue) at a special concert!
Founded by Mr. Arnab Roy on 13th December
1995 after the release of DDLJ the fan club established its
own SRK museum in January 2002. The club founders and members
couldn't be happier when Shahrukh Khan agreed to visit the
club on 7th August 2002.
Here are a few pictures from the event
The fans held a one week carnival after the
release of Devdas. The carnival culminated
in a musical extravaganza on August 7 with the felicitation
and crowning of Bollywood’s Badshah. SRK donated some
of the costumes he wore in his films and other souvenirs for
the Shah Rukh Khan Museum.
For starters, he gave away costumes of Dil Se, the sword of
Asoka and the violin of Mohabbatein.
What more...the concert was a fundraiser for the
Thalassaemia Society of India.
